January 20th has marked the end of an era – a beautiful, amazing, united era. In response to this election, there’s been a nationwide movement for marches to advocate multiple causes, to demonstrate solidarity on women’s, immigration, gay rights, environmental and many more issues.
Out of this movement, there have been some really poignant posters that have emerged, including my favorite – one that challenges bigotry and refuses to step down.
Rather than call this brave, I call this a Truth – because Americans come in all shapes, forms, and religions – and there isn’t anything that validates one over the other.
Less than half the country voted for the President, but he would be far more successful if he recognized that it’s in all of our interests for him to not drive the economy into the ground, and the way to get our support is to have a dialogue that doesn’t alienate anyone who doesn’t represent a typical 2016 Republican supporter. That we all represent America. That we’re all valid.
